When a new storage shed is going in at Brookstone Estates, you don't just set it on whatever's already there and call it a day. That's how you end up with a pad that shifts, settles, and causes headaches down the road. We came in and did it right from the start.

First thing we did was pull the old shed out of the way and dig down to undisturbed soil. That part matters more than most people realize. If you build on soft or compromised ground, nothing above it stays stable long-term. Getting down to solid native soil is the only way to give a pad a real foundation to sit on.

From there, we built the base back up using CA6 - a compactable crushed aggregate that packs tight and handles load well. It's the right material for this kind of work. Once the pad was built up to grade, we used the HydraBucket to finish the edges clean, blending the surrounding grade smooth so water moves away from the pad the way it should.

What you end up with is a level, stable surface that's going to hold up - not just for the shed sitting on it now, but for whatever comes next. This is the kind of site prep work that doesn't get noticed until it's done wrong. We'd rather do it right the first time.

This is a good example of what our excavation and site preparation work looks like on a smaller commercial job. Same attention to the process, same equipment, same standards - regardless of the size of the scope.
