This one had a lot going on. The garage entrance needed to be widened, water was running toward the retaining walls, and the overall yard just wasn't working - rough patches, poor flow, and areas that were basically unusable. It needed a complete ground-up approach, not just a quick fix.
We started with the drainage. You can see the pipe network we trenched in near the house - a branched system designed to pull water away from the foundation and retaining walls before it can cause any real damage. Getting that water moving in the right direction is the whole game on a property like this. If drainage isn't right, nothing else holds up long-term.
From there it was all about regrading and site prep. We reshaped the entire yard to create proper flow across the property. That meant moving a serious amount of dirt, cleaning up rough transitions, and getting everything to drain the way it should. On the driveway side, you can see the gravel pad taking shape in front of the shop - widened entrance, clean surface, room to actually move around.
Jobs like this are never just about dirt work. It's about making the whole property function better. When the grade is right, water goes where it's supposed to, the yard is easier to maintain, and the usable space opens up in a way that makes a real difference day to day. The final grade on this one completely changed how the property reads.
Every piece of this tied together - the drainage solutions, the excavation, the driveway work. That's how it has to be done. Piece it all together correctly and the property works. Skip one part and the rest eventually pays for it.
