Water stacking up against your foundation is one of those problems that's easy to ignore - until it isn't. Once moisture starts sitting against a foundation, it's only a matter of time before you're dealing with cracks, seepage, or worse. That's exactly what we were up against on this job in Edwards County.

We started by bringing in the mini excavator to dig along the foundation and open up the yard for the drain line runs. That's the part of this work most people don't think about - you have to move a serious amount of dirt to do it right. No shortcuts there.

From there, we installed foundation drainage along the house and tied the gutter downspout runoff directly into the French drain system. The idea is simple: capture the water at the source and give it a path to move out and away from the structure. The drain pipe runs across the yard and exits well away from the foundation, so that water has somewhere to go every single time it rains.

What makes this setup work long-term is the combination - foundation drain plus gutter tie-in plus French drain all working together. A lot of people patch one piece and wonder why the problem keeps coming back. Handling all of it at once is what actually solves it.

If you've got water pooling against your house or gutters dumping runoff right at the foundation, it's worth getting it looked at before it turns into a much bigger repair. We handle drainage solutions and excavation work like this across Southern Illinois.
