When this customer bought their property in Southern Illinois, they had a clear vision for it. A future home. Lake access. Room to breathe. What they had to start with was a different story - dense brush, overgrown shrubs, and zero view of the water that made the land worth buying in the first place. That's where we came in.
We started clearing earlier and opened up a good chunk of the property. But a big piece of what made this land special - the lake itself - was still buried behind a wall of brush and overgrowth. A few months later, they called us back. They were ready to open it up all the way to the water.
That second phase is where things got really satisfying. Using our forestry mulcher, we worked through the heavy brush that was blocking the lakefront and ground it all down in place. No hauling, no burning, no giant brush piles left behind. The material gets mulched right into the ground, which is cleaner and better for the soil long-term. It's one of the reasons forestry mulching is the right tool for a job like this.
That's one of our favorite parts of this kind of land management work - the return trips. Every time we come back, the property looks more like what the owner had in mind on day one. The view that was completely hidden is now right there in front of you. Open water, open sky, and a cleared building site ready for the next step.
Not every piece of ground is simple to work with. Lakefront properties come with terrain that has to be handled carefully, and the clearing has to be done in a way that doesn't make a mess of the bank. We take that seriously. If you've got a property in Southern Illinois that needs this kind of attention - whether it's a future build site, a lake lot, or just land that's gotten out of hand - this is exactly the kind of work we do.
